Frequently Asked Questions
What is Speed dating?
Speed Dating is an easy, no-hassle way to meet many single people.
During the course of one evening, you take part in a series of short
one-to-one dates (approx 3-4 minutes). Not only is it simple, it
is also a lot of fun.
What are your office hours?
We now take telephone bookings from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.
When and were do events take place?
We hold events in specially-selected upmarket bars. This makes for
a great atmosphere and gives you the opportunity to stay at the
bar afterwards and carry on talking to the people you have just
met. We close off an area of the bar, use a function room or sometimes
take over the whole venue exclusively for Speed Daters. It allows
you a safe and friendly environment to meet like-minded singles.
How old are the other Speed Daters?
Currently most of our events are for 23-35 years olds. The age range
is purely for guidance and no formal validation is required.
What is the entry price?
The price for a ticket is £20.
Why do I need to book in advance?
We need to ensure we have the correct balance of men and women,
and to ensure that enough people will be at each event.
Can I pay at the door?
No, we need to control numbers before the event.
What if I have to cancel?
We can offer you a refund up until five days before the event, unless
the event itself is cancelled. If the event is cancelled, we will
try our best to transfer you to another event date (usually 1 to
2 weeks after). If you are unable to make it for any reason, please
do let us know, or why don't you offer your place to a friend?
How many dates will I get at an event?
You will normally get between 15 to 25 dates depending on the number
of bookings.
Can I sign up to more than one event?
Of course! Sign up to as many as you like. The more events you attend
the more successes you have and the more experience you will get
meeting all these people.
Do many people go Speed Dating on their own?
Approximately 40% of women and 60% of men come Speed Dating on their
own. If you are a single person thinking of taking part, remember
you will make new friends as well as meeting (hopefully) the person
of your dreamsÉ
What sort of people go Speed Dating?
Most Speed Daters are professionals who want to meet more people.
They're generally normal, attractive people who just aren't meeting
new people through their work or immediate circle of friends. They
may even be people who have just moved to the area looking for friends
and maybe a relationship.
What do I wear?
You should wear what ever you would normally wear on a date. You
want to impress, so go smartly dressed but also casual as you will
be dating 15-20 men/women! However, please bear in mind that some
venues have a dress code, so it's best to avoid sportswear and trainers.
Is three minutes really long enough?
Let's face it, first impressions do count. You will know within
seconds whether you like someone or not.
How do I know if someone liked me?
We will inform you within 48 hours of the event whether you have
or haven't any matches. You will get a text message or e-mail from
the team which will include your maches, first name and mobile/email
address. Now it's over to you to organise another date!
Can I have more than one match?
Certainly, it all depends on how well you dated!
